The driving safety indicator (DSI) developed by Nokian Tyres has been refined into an aquaplaning warning indicator. When the tire has only four millimetres of tread depth remaining, the treads drop symbol will disappear, reminding the driver of the increased risk of hydroplaning.Narrow, directional grooves, water controllers and the polished bases of the main grooves remove water effectively from between the road surface and the tire.Combined with the asymmetrical tread pattern, the tires unique wedged tread structure improves both handling and wet grip properties.The Mudstopper prevents the accumulation of sand and dust between the tire and the rim. The 55 series and tires with a lower profile also feature a rim guard which prevents the rim from bruising against pavements.Three powerful and stiff longitudinal ribs and an asymmetrical tread design ensure good drivability even at high speeds.
